Standing Firm in God’s Grace
The primary purpose for the book of 1 Peter was to help every true Christian understand God’s grace so we would stand firm in God’s grace. The key verse is 1 Peter 5:12, “Through Silvanus, our faithful brother (for so I regard him), I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it!”
As we spend time in 1 Peter, we gain a better understanding of God’s grace in its fullest measure and learn how to stand firm in that grace while living in a world that is increasingly hostile toward Christians.
